One of the worlds most popular carburettors, extremely simple in design, easy to rebuild, long time between rebuilds, huge range of models to fit just about any engine, excellent performance carb that can be modified in many ways and just about nothing goes wrong with them except for normal wear and tear. I am of course referring to the new generation Holley range which uses the metering block plate that made them famous in the 70's and has continued ever since. Many variations have appeared as emission control became more stringent. The reverse mixture screw Holley came into being and then they deviated from the popular design to alloy high emission compliant carbs that were designed for direct replacement and were able to meet the same emission specs as the original. These carbs still proved to be very useful for fuel economy & power gains on Australian vehicles. |
